DIY Hedgehog for Kids to Craft – Lia Griffith

When we were recently given a box full of egg foam balls from Floracraft® Make It:Fun® with the assignment to make a kid’s craft, we knew wanted to use them for something other than floral arranging – because we like to think out of the box here at Lia Griffith HQ. Being a lover of cute little critters it wasn’t long before the idea of a mommy and baby hedgehog became our brilliant idea for turning egg shapes into something unexpected. We picked two foam eggs in the sizes of 3 1/2 inch and 2 5/16 inch. Using tooth picks for the spines and felt and beads for their faces, these foam ball and felt hedgehogs are a great project to do with the kiddos. Our toothpicks are blunt at one end meaning our DIY hedgehog is not quite as spiky as the real version! Their little faces are made using a soft felt and three little beads for their nose and eyes – no sewing involved! The template for the face and tiny ears can be found below. Follow our simple tutorial below to make your own felt and foam ball hedgehogs, and if you do make your own, please do share your pictures with us across Facebook, Twitter or Instagram – we LOVE to see your creative endeavors! Enjoy! ~ Lia
