DIY Velvet Ribbon Bow Barrette – Honestly WTF

Ahhh, velvet. Is there anything better than wearing this luscious fabric during the fall and winter seasons? And bows. Swoon. I’ve recently developed a major obsession with these über feminine knots. So you can imagine how excited I was when I first spotted Jennifer Behr’s velvet bow barrettes, where two of my favorite things come together as one gorgeous hair accessory. But it wasn’t until I stumbled upon yards and yards of velvet ribbon, in rich autumnal colors, that I was inspired to make my own. Turns out, bows are rediculously easy to make. Simply add these to a loose half updo or a casual ponytail and you’ve got the most beautiful, effortless hairstyle.
