I have a 2001 e38, but I don’t have the radio code. Should I use the jumper cables to hook up to another car?

Thanks kind of the same as my 2001 540i. Thankfully i disconnected it in right order before watching video. Getting new battery tomorrow. Luckily all i needed was a 10mm for all connections

Wanted to say THANK YOU so much for this video! Replaced the battery in my 2001 E38 today, and your video gave me the confidence to do it! ?

At 4:04 only thing I can add is that for the Vent Hose, just pull it out, right at base where it connects to the battery (pulling horizontally, toward the front of the car). Then you are ready to pull out the battery and replace!

I wore rubber gloves when disconnecting just in case, and replaced my Duralast Gold 95r-dlg / H9-DLG with the same model in my 2001 740i. Thanks again for all your help! Subscribed!

Another thing to do is verify it is the battery and not your charging system that is failing. Start the car and run a volt (or multi-) meter on the terminals and check to see that the alternator is putting out 13.5 to 14v (or check specs for your model car) to the battery. Or just take it to a local autoparts store that will do a test for you.
