Great Video. Only on a 2002 A4, (3.0L quattro) the clamp is located on the front of the battery and requires a hex head to remove. Allen wrench won’t work unless it is about 12″ long.

Nice Informative Vid…since I have a ’03 Passat ,.,.But What about the plastic little ‘nitrogen gas’ tube that goes into the upper side 5 mm hole near the (+) terminal? I noticed you didnt have one on your video. Well, I’ll assume its no biggie to just slip out the tube and slip it into the New Battery once everything is secure. Thanks

My sons gave me a nice old Passat for Father’s Day – best present I’ve ever had – when my ancient Golf bit the dust. The Passat has curious electrics that will need sorting out later but for the time being I am just gonna replace the battery. This vid showed me exactly how. Many thanks.

The worst place to put the battery in car. Big, heavy battery will be a problem to remove.
Anyway, thanks for the video, cheers !
