Miyoko Schinner’s Vegan Chocolate Cake + Brownies – Design*Sponge

When you love to cook, or if you cook often, you look for ways to streamline the processes for some of your most used or favorite items. I love having large batches of items already made that I can go straight to when needed, without having to stop and make them — sometimes just in the amount specified in a recipe. Author, chef, and entrepreneur Miyoko Schinner is a master at this, and in her new book The Homemade Vegan Pantry, she provides the recipes to make up your own pantry. We’re sharing her Chocolate Cake and Baking Mix and Glorious Butterless Butter so that you will always be able to whip up a batch of brownies with little notice. Miyoko also provides variations for the butter so that you can use it in a variety of baked goods! I haven’t been this excited in a long time and can’t wait to try these out, especially the butter! —Kristina
